What is the New Child Care Subsidy?
- The government has introduced a New Child Care Package called Child Care Subsidy (CSS) from July 1st 2019. This package will help parents with children 0-13 to train, work, study and volunteer.
- Prior to this date, there were two different benefits, which were called Child care benefit (CCB) and Child Care Rebate (CCR, working parents tax rebate). These have now been merged into this new single “Child Care Subsidy”.

Childcare Daily Fee Subsidy
Daily Subsidies range from 50% – 85% of the subsidy amount for families earning less than $252,452 (with a sliding subsidy scale above this point). Please note full subsidy value is not indicative of full fee, which is dependent on each childcare’s fee structure.

That way, you will know exactly what your out of pocket fees will be, as well as the quality of education and care your child will receive.
